Admission of Freshmen
Dominican University encourages applications from those students who are best prepared to benefit from our rigorous academic program. In evaluating applications, we pay attention to academic achievement as indicated by both the courses taken in high school and the performance in those courses. The Personal Statement on the application is an excellent opportunity to show that at Dominican University... I Can!
A minimum of 16 units of college preparatory work is required and should include courses in:
- English
- Mathematics
- Language
- Natural Science
- Social Studies

Admission of Transfer Students
Minimum entrance requirements for students in good standing from regionally accredited two-year or four-year colleges include:
- Cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on 4.0 scale
- Students transferring with fewer than 12 semester hours must meet freshman requirements.

Admission of International StudentsMinimum entrance requirements for international students include:
- Cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on 4.0 scale
- Demonstrate proficiency in English with a score of 550 on the paper based TOEFL or 213 on the computer based TOEFL, or by successfully completing Level 112 in the ELS program. ELS has a center on the Dominican University campus.
